We believe the following four points separate us from other team programs in the region:
We are a mission-based program, with our mission built around two core goals – developing elite baseball players and using baseball as a platform to teach life lessons to young men.
We strongly believe that elite baseball players are developed, not just recruited. Elite players are developed through hard work, instruction, practice and repetition. There are no shortcuts. Hard work and instruction are core to our program.
The Gamers lead coaching staff (Scott Cooper, Matt Whiteside and Dave Pregon) have over 30 years of professional baseball experience, with over 15 year in the majors. They have learned baseball at the highest levels and are skilled at teaching young men.
Scott, Matt and Dave are directly involved in teaching every Gamers player, on every Gamers team, from 11u all the way to 18u. There are no figureheads in the Gamers program. Every player interacts directly with the program leaders. And every program leader actively coaches.
Finally, we have specific coaching principles and program elements that help Gamers players develop as young men. We teach them what it takes to succeed, hold them to high standards and teach them to be accountable to themselves and their teammates. In that way, our program develops young men and changes lives.
